The program has given me a deeper passion for cross-cultural and under-served medicine. I am participating in the under-served care track and am interested in primary care, internal medicine or pediatrics.

University Credit

University credit in Spanish can be obtained by taking the internationally recognized ACTFL Spanish Proficiency Examination, which can be done upon return to the U.S. You may want to check with your university to verify that they will accept the credits.

We also encourage students to speak with their advisors about any potential credit they could receive from volunteering or from the cultural component of the program. Additionally, Somos Hermanos can work with students on an individual basis to develop internships or independent research studies.
